Try the slowest speed then. Also make sure it's audio format & not mp3 format. Make sure you close the disk as some players don't like session audio cd's. You might also consider trying a different brand of cd. If it's an "el cheapo", then yes, probably some players will have problems reading it. One of if not the most important part of a disk is the TOC which is the directory of the disk written in the very 1st few tracks (grooves) of the disk. If that can't be read properly then the disk will be slow to read or won't be able to read it. Slow burn speeds & reliable brands will usually give definite results. Also, it sounds like you're using the super fast brands of CD. Some older players simply don't like them!!! Go for one of the slower type cd-r's. Perhaps one with a max burn speed of 16 but burn at 4 or 8 speed. Oh & make sure it's a CD-R & not a CD-RW!

This Burning an audio CD from your MP3's probably explains it better. Choose audio, not mp3 disk if you want to play the disk on normal cd players such as in your car, etc. MP3 disks are playable on special mp3 players, or some of the newer cd players or dvd players.
