Cant view dowloaded avi or mpeg Why can't I view my downloaded avi or mpeg files with my windows media player. I keep on receiving this error, "file type not supported or codec error". I can't even preview the files while it is still downloading. |

Hi there I use the VLC player, it's free and has all the codes you need built in. You can have a look at it here - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html Hope this helps xxxDxxx |

If VLC can't play the file, then it's a sure sign there's something wrong with the file. VLC can play a lot more types of files than wmp can. See these: 1. Movie download issues 2. How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ... to see if there's any user feedback on the particular video file. |

Any of you if you can just do me a favor. Try downloading any file of the movie "g**et of f*re" then try to preview it before it is completed. If you can preview it then tell me the filename so that I could try it out. If I cannot preview it then there is something wrong with my system. I must admist I had problems wth the 1st, but the smaller one was easier to preview. It's a part 1 of 2 of the same video!
