Lime Wire very slow

When I downloaded the free version of Limewire the first couple of times I used it performance was great. Now the program is extremely slow when I open it but the downloading is fine. My computer is very quick:

80GB hard drive
1.87GHZ pentium M
2GB ram
Windows XP SP2

Any sugestions? Do I have to suck it up and pay for pro?

I wouldent pay for pro. However, are you sure that your memory isent close to it's end? I don't have all kinds of fancy components on my laptop but I know that I don't have much memory left, although some, and until this happened my limwire was fine. Now it almost freezes everything when I open it, it's so slow. And sometimes it makes my music skip over and over and over! and I have to just wait or exit everything else I am working on. So maybe if you release the things that take up memory that you may not be using, or it is another problem. I hope I have helped somewhat. I am only half computer literate so I only know of the obvious things, lol.

I don't have many processes running while Lime Wire is active. My system can handle multiple big programs at one time. I thought there was a setting that would help me out or something.
