I'm new and i have a little problem. Alot if videos that i download don't have any picture when i play them. i only get sound and some psycodellic picure. why can't i get the video. i have windows and i use the real player i think. any help would be the rad

You might be missing codecs. See here for links to codecs & also VLC player - lots of people swear by it & it plays just about anything

Compression/decompression algorithms. Kind of like a formula for compressing the file & then decompressing it for playback.
(I'm sure some brainiac has a much better explanation )
