how to play mov files
 
hello everone out there i just wanted to see if anyone can help me out i just download this movie there and the (extension) on the movie file is (mov) and when i try to play the movie on my windows media player they wont play and the file type is (Quick time video file) dont know what to do can anyone help thank you:)

You will need Quick Time Player to play mov files.

hi, ok but the thing is that i want to burn this movie in to a dvd so i could see the movie on my hone dvd player how can i do this if the file is (mov) would it play on a home dvd player if i burn it on to a dvd

It should burn. Burn it as 'data' burn. What burning software do you use? And you might want to browse the forum sticky's at the top of the forum. They will have all the info you need on burning.

hi agin i just tryed to burn the (mov file) to a dvd they burn on to the disc but the wont play on my home dvd player is there any way that i can change the (mov file) to avi/mpeg/ or something eles that my dvd player will play

Hi Mike,
You need a program that will convert these files and then burn them in quick easy steps...Dvdsanta is a user friendly program that will do this for you....
The free demo version is a good one it has all the functions the paid version has and there are no time limits, it just has demo across the screen in the video output ( but if you zoom in it goes)

Oh ok, you didnt mention what software you are using for the burns? I use Nero 6 for mine. I try to avoid mov files at all costs and stick with avi extensions. Aslo, try a web search, Im sure there are some free ones out there without restrictions. ;)
