What have you been downloading lately? Make sure you have a good, updated AV program. Scan a file before you open it. There's good info & advice in that thread. Also a link to norbiesworld. If you can't get rid of the virus, he'll be able to help you

Thanks for the Info. I know it's not a virus the antivirus I use comes from The Gov. My brother works with computers in the Army. But I will look into the link

ke5bbm There is only one thing that makes LimeWire start by itself and wondering why is correct it is a virus. If you think back you probably did a software search and downloaded a file 851.7kb in size you then opened it but there was nothing there. Guess What there was something there a virus and I will bet you are running Norton this particular virus disables Norton but you don't have to believe us if you don't want to eventually your computer will come to a crawl and you will have literally thousands of files 851.7kb in size on it ,this virus loves to reproduce itself.

Hi, this is a virus. I had same problem, uninstalled limewire, reinstalled it and guess what same thing. I was running avast av. I ran scan didn't show anything. I knew it had to be virus, so went to town, bought Norton's and it found 6,300+ virus's all in same file. After deleting them, reinstalled Limewire and am having no trouble at all. it was the w32.alcra.f virus. Scan your machine, and remember, like I learned, you pay for what you get. Should have known better than a free AV. Charla
