Limewire downloaded twice

Hi. For some reason, I have Limewire in my tray twice. However, when I go to uninstall one of them, I can only find it on my desktop once. Is there any way I can uninstall one of them without uninstalling the other. Only one of them will connect anyway. Not sure if it matters or not, but I have Windows XP. Thanks!!!

Do a search of your computer to see how many LW programs exist & where they are. Check what versions they are.

Normally, LW will uninstall a previous version at the beginning of installation. Or else, yes you can go to start menu, Programs>LW>Uninstall. However, I did also find more than one version on my computer. One reason was due to 2 admin accounts. Another reason I'm not sure about. Since more than one seemed to exist within the same account. So I simply deleted one of the copies. I'm not so sure that's the best way to go about it however.

Thanks! I did a search, and apparently I have Limewire 4.10.9 and also 4.10.5 How would I go about uninstalling one of them?

Interesting. Go to the 4.10.5 program folder & you'll find an uninstaller program. Open it & uninstall. No guarantees however that it won't uninstall 4.10.9. Hopefully uninstalling it won't uninstall components of the later version. I have no definitive answers to your question. Just a suggestion.

BTW did you find the other program also in the C:\Programs folder?

It worked!

Thanks! I was able to uninstall one without losing any parts of the other, as far as I can tell. Also, yes, both were in my C programs folder. Thanks a lot for your quick help!!:)
