A bit of good news
 

I heard on the news this morning that 27 people worldwide got caught distrubuting child porn over the internet, and some of these babies were only 18mths old:( ...

3 of these people were from Australia
One was a 22yr old from Stafford here in Brisbane
Another was a 30yr old from Newcastle in NSW
and the other man was a 56yr old from Victoria....

These sick *******s will be caught and if everyone that sees child porno through p2p reported what they came across, then maybe it would stop, heres hoping.......

How not the get emotional about this!?

I did a search...and found a video with an awfull title. Something like "the rape of a baby" or something. I said to myself..."this cannot be real...there cannot be people in this world so ******* sick and evil...this has to be a joke"....I started downloading the file...preview it......and you could not sleep in about three days! :mad:

I am a pretty flexible guy......I can watch normal porn...but this child stuff in just plain wrong....I can´t think of anything worst...really...

There has to be something Limewire people can do to take this people out the system.

Now I have some filters... but I am really afraid to download anything but music

Did you use the link thats provided to report the IP number??

Unfortunately, you have found out that there are amoral, evil, "call them what you will" people in this world. People who will do anything for money and/or see other people, apart from themselves, as things to exploit and get rich from.

These people, as long as we human beings control things, will always be with us, our duty, as decent people, is to report these scum bags where ever we find them.

There is no point loosing sleep over this, no point in jumping up and down as it does no good. The only good you can do is report their IP address to the FBI.

Someone suggested, some time back, to report every child porn file title they come across again this does no good as it swamps law enforcement with bogus/useless/false info which waste scares resources.

The thing to do, as you did, is check these retched files, make a note of the IP address where they came from, report them to the FBI then delete the rubbish from your system.

You do more good that way, and potentially save other children from being abused, than all the ranting, raving and useless tears other forum members seem to indulge themselves in.

PS. I have no hard evidence but I believe a lot of these kids are abused by their own parents or with their parents consent.

Sick - I agree, and now the kids can't use Limewire
 

I'm a woman in my 30's and i'm no prude. But I do agree that there is far too much "adult" material / porn (of every kind going) on Limewire, and it has ruined it for my kids (who aren't even teenagers yet).

I will not allow my children to download from Limewire due to the FACT that when you search for something - no matter what, you get "adult" material.

I ask them what they would like downloaded, and I do it for them. I will NOT have my children exposed to this type of material. And I worry about those children who are accessing and downloading material that is not appropriate for them, without their parents knowledge, and the mental scars / damage it will / has done.

It is not only un-appropriate, but annoying when you're looking for something and it's bombarded with this "adult" material.

Note: When I say children, I mean those children who are under the legal age of consent (as dictated by the Law of their country).

Why doesn't Limewire crate an "Adult" Limewire version for all of this material ?

I do not intend to offend anyone, but make a meere point.

Its inapropriate for your children to see naked people, but ok to introduce them to thievery?

Sorry, but to me its a bit of a double standard.

Jandle, I can understand were your comming from, but its not Limewire's fault, it's just the software that connects you to all the other computers, that is what p2p is, its all of us sharing files with each other....LW does not supply music, movies, programs or any downloads what so ever...

So as soon as we the people relise that we can help put a stop to this uglyness the better and stop trying to palm it off to others...

And I dont let my kids touch Limewire, not only for the porn aspect of things, but all the viruses as well...
Limewire is not a childs toy and all parents need to relise this....

My forum colleague and friend Hobo said: I would just like to clarify this point further.

The Limewire company/organisation does not host anything, what you see when you do a search is what is on PCs and servers owned by individuals. And as such, the LW org cannot control what we, as decent or sick people, want to share.

That is why LW Basic and Pro are not toys because this software allows anyone and everyone the ability to share whatever they want to, no matter how sick or illegal that thing is.

It's amazing, I look for a song, and I get flooded with porn images, something has to break. I've got one I.P, although I don't think they're US, any help?

I know I said laws vary from country to country, but I believe child porn is illegal in most countries, so if I was you, I would still report it, and just see what they say.

What's really sad is not only are these kids having pictures taking of them but also that they might be being abused in real life by people.

Something really needs to be done, so I'd report IP addresses even if you don't think that they're in the U.S. or whereever.
