![]() i downloaded some .avi files off of limewire onto a mac, running mac os x panther. quicktime, real player, and windows media dont work to play it. w/ quicktime and real player they both let me hear sound but no video. quicktime said i might need oinstall some other software, linked me to a site, but it lookedl ike enchancer type of stuff (nothing taht would really help). i transferred them over to my windows laptop, same story.. NOTHING worked. anyone have an idea for a player that might work to play them or something i could download? |

![]() Very definitely the best player for Mac OSX is VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site). VLC is a very reliable player. If VLC can't play a video file then I trash the file. VLC can also be used for video & audio streaming. But VLC will not play realplayer files. But neither will any other program except for RP. ![]() Thanks guys. Turns out the problem was with my laptop.. it was too slow to playback the file. I am transferring the file to one of my windows laptops that's pretty fast and I am going to try downloading that player on there.. so we'll see what happens. |
