Yes--but the variety is really set by the hosts your search reaches.

However, a search can't currently reach every one of the several millions of machines on the network.

Reconnecting every once in a while might allow your search get out to a different part of the network.

Apparently, LW Pro in Leaf mode has the largest "horizon" at present.

Searching on a different day/week/month also is a factor. 5 PM (GMT -4) is a popular time for people to be on the network; weekends better yet.

So, try searching when you'd guess a typical university student of the country you want might be online. Try this for Japanese content to get a sense of what works.
