I know what you will say but i have to ask Hello people, I know that somewhere on the forum this will have been asked already but here goes anyway. I have limewire pro and have finally got it set up as I want, I share my files and let others have what I have but I am not happy, I don’t know weather it is just me but I find most of the people who have files from me never seem to have anything to share, is this a problem with my set up or is it just freeloaders. I have my limewire set up not to allow freeloaders but IM not 100% sure that this does anything as I seem to still get loads. Also if anyone can help, is there a certain way in which files can be found? When searching for various films I seem to find most are in a foreign language or from a cinema is there anyway of filtering this out, I also do not seem to be able to find that many sources for films and music so I don’t know what IM doing wrong. Yes I do try various ways of searching before anyone asks I try artist album and all that. I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me. Many thanks in advance. The world would be a better place if people shared. |

If you're trying to browse host & it's saying 'unable to browse host', that does not mean the person's a freeloader. Browse host is pretty unreliable Having chat enabled seems to make it work a little better. There's some info here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...ht=browse+host For your searching, try using the All Types category, rather than just Audio or Video. This can give you quite different results. For example if you're searching for a movie, search for title - format eg movie - avi or just movie avi When your search results come up, you can check the file with Bitzi. Right click on the file > advanced > look up file with Bitzi. If a movie's been rated, you can find out whether it's a good/crappy version & other little bits of info. Songs don't tend to be rated very often. Don't forget to search at different times of day. Hosts in other time zones are logging on/off all the time You're right, this has been asked before! The search button is top right, next to quick links. It lets you search through all previous threads. |

mickjapa108, I wasn't criticising... just saying that not many songs get rated I've rated songs on Bitzi, the only problem I've ever had is that Bitcollider's a bit slow to open a browser page sometimes. Don't worry - nobody's going to go off at you for not rating songs |

Perhaps you did not read the link left by birdy inside that link there is another link in the post by crawler.Browse host does not work very good. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...ht=browse+host read the thread fully. You can not turn off Browse host in LimeWire it is always on. It just does not work very good. Hell I can set at one of my computers and try and browse one of the others sometimes I can sometimes I can't. So using your suggestion I would be blocking myself. Between the 3 computers I have running right now I am sharing 240GB a little over 2800 files. So if there was a feature like you suggested you would probably be reducing the available number of files why would you want to do that. Solution: Learn to write code and fix the Browse feature |
