If it's an old car stereo it might not support cd-r or cd+r. It should say so on the front, if not then look in the manual to see if it supports burned discs

More on that point. Older car stereos (or many old stereo player set ups) tended not to like cd-r's burnt at high speeds. Instead, burn at minimum speed. If you only have high speed disks, it might be worth trying it out with a low speed one such as a 1-16 speed disk burnt at 1-4 speed.

Yep, and perhaps try burnatonce (freeware). My Car is 6 years old, but plays any CD I burn, and I burn a LOT.

butnatonce is available via Freeware World Team, But, watch this site, it's not very ethical, you'll probably get a nasty with it. Try to get it through its own site if you can.

Nice to see freeware alternative burner programs.
