In that case use PHEX.

My reason for not using limewire is that as an application it causes more problems running on Macs than it's worth, a very poor piece of code, FrostWire, at least, does not give problems!

Limewire is no faster than any of the P2P progs I run, PHEX is probably faster, I've got 7 connections at the moment!

As software goes limewire is MOST DEFINITELY the FLAKIEST! Best place for it, Trash can!

@ spolied lil rich girl,

I seem to remember from a different thread that you have a dial up connection. If thats the case getting Pro won't help you any. You don't have enough bandwidth to download at fast speeds. Better to configure LW Basic to work with dial up and only d/l one file at a time.

Tips here to set up LW to work with dial up: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=48573

I've seen here only a small fraction of LW users trying to solve some problems mostly caused by their system, their ISP's and/ or their set ups in regard to firewalls and other protection software. The majority seems to run the application without any problem whatsoever regardless of what kind of OS they are running. That means that your assumption of LW being a 'poor' client is rather based on guessing than on real facts.
As for me, I think that the developers from LW made a decent job and I'm thankful for being able to use it. I guess every program has its pros and contras and thanks to the many people here in this forums we have a chance to solve our little problems without big hassle. So, a tone of general appreciation (for which program ever) would be more appropriate than your bashing of LW for the benefize of FW; which matter of factly come from the same smart guys

No my friend, my findings were based on having to do TWO full re-installs on my PowerMac G4 Dual, each time I was getting corruption's and Kernel Panics. Not until I reinstalled for the THIRD time and left off LW did my Mac run properly.
I have since spoken to other Mac users who have had similar problems with LW.
I also understand the LW is to 'throw the towel in' in the near future and no further development is to be done!

And you represent the majority??
As I said, some people experience problems with the clients. My comment was based on my own capability to create such a program (whichever), which tends to be 0. It (my comment) also doesn't intend to be the beginning of a 'battle', it served only the function of participating in an exchange of opinions (one of the main reasons for forums), so don't take it as an offens. Sharing our different experiences can only help to improve the programs. Throwing them into the trash bin won't !!

I agree, to go forward requires an exchange of opinions and information.
So why, when I tried to contact LW with my problems, were all my emails unanswered???
Is that the way forward?
At least when I requested info/help from Acquisition my emails were answered!

Are you a Pro user and has it been more than 6 months since you purchased Pro. Also to be honest you will get answered allot faster here than from the LimeWire support team. They even direct you here on the support page.
