Unhappy Burning CDs with Nero PROBLEM ! !

Have burnt CDs yesterday / no problem. Today, however, is a different ballgame. In BURN COMPILATION I noticed it has FINALIZE CD ticked - is this correct. It says WAITING FOR THE DRIVE TO BECOME READY. Please help if you can as I am new to all this and now I have a headache !! Tks. xx

Yes normally you should finalize the CD. Only occasions you wouldn't is if you want to put multimedia/data on the remainder. If a disk isn't finalised, some players won't play them.

Double-check the song files. Make sure they all play properly before burning.

I don't know. The best i can think of is an update in your Nero or burner firmware or both. Someone else might have an idea.

I presume it is a blank disk in the burner right? It sounds like the program is having difficulty recognising the burner or burner recognising the disk. I presume you're using a good brand CD-R & not some cheap muck made in China or Taiwan. Some brands don't work well in some burner brands/models.

Note: I presume you saw this Burning an audio CD from your MP3's

Your burner is telling "Nero" the CD is no good or your burner has gone bad.

Put a new BLANK Cd in and try again.
You may have to try more than one.

If that doesn't work try to burn a data CD.

What version of Nero are you using and where did you get it? You should always data burn to CD. Don't keep wasting your blanks on bad burns. Use Nero express, load files, then data burn. And if that still doesnt work then, unistall Nero from add/remove and delete any leftover Nero program folders, and do a fresh, clean install, then try again.

edit to add: dont burn inside your Limewire shared folder. Copy the files you want to burn into a new folder on your desktop in you c drive. Open the new folder that you made and load the files into Nero then data burn. Providing, your OS is Windows XP of course.

Default nero problem

I use media player to burn cd's with a nero plugin I downloaded. I bought the nero 6 but decided to use media with the nero plugin only. It goes rather quickly and have had absolutely no problems.

Nero has an info tool, run that and see what it says. It also creates a log you can send to Nero support to get help from them. Go to there web site to find out more. They recently helped me with my problem.

If you have Nero 6 then use the Nero Express for burns and you shouldn't have any problems, this is what I use. I have never had any problems burning with Nero. Use straight Nero next time. Not WMP.
