Hey is downloading music on Limewire illegal and if it is what happens if you get caught and how hard is it to get caught?

Depends what country you're in as to its legal status. Some countries it's not. Some countries it's only illegal to share (they would target those that share high amounts). And some countries they target both. Generally only high end quantities. The forums have discussed this issue time & time again.

i highly doubt you will get caught because eveyone does it.... if you're in the u.s., sharing and/or downloading is illegal (both are).... but they only go after those that share. most countries are the same way, though some allow both. if you get caught in the u.s. you generally will have to pay a fine, which is usually about $3,000; though they can get you for a lot more. as for other countries..... i am not sure.
