cant open limewire
 

for the past week,when i double click on the icon for limewire,it wont load.nothing happens at all.i keep clicking on it and it wont pop up. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still doesn't work.does anyone know how to fix this??

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

If that still doesn't fix it, then remove all your java versions using the Add/Remove control panel. Then reinstall Java using the "Offline" Java installer which is a 15 MB downld; Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

i read ur post to someone else who was kind of having the same problem,and tried that,but it still doesn't work.it's like it's not even installed

Some antispyware will see LW as a threat & so not let it open. Have you started using/updated any antispy recently? PestPatrol is one example that will cause big problems for LW!

If this is the case, you would have to add LW to the list of exceptions/allowed apps. Or try disabling the antispy & see if LW opens.

i never downloaded any antispy unless it got downloaded by accident and is hidden.one day i was on limewire n the next i couldn't get back onto it.

When you uninstalled & reinstalled Java, did you make sure to use the manual (offline) installer? Same with LW... did you use the offline installer?
