Viruses in Dalai Lama zips  Much as one should beware with .zip files anyway, both .zip files had viruses which my anti-virus caught. |
Installation In an attempt to install limewire I lost limewire nstaller so the installation didn't go through. How can I reinstall limewire without being charge. Problem is limewire support staff is recognizing my email address......help!!!:( :( Jeff |
Did you uninstall Limewire through Control Panel/Add Remove Programs? If not, do that, reboot, then try again. |
No don't uninstall using the add/remove control panels. That's a dumb idea. You'll cause problems doing that with a non properly uninstalled program. LW hasn't had that ability using add/remove control panel since about LW version 4.3 which was well over a year ago. You only use the Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstaller OR Go to the program folder to find the uninstaller. OR Reinstall LW & at the beginning of installation it will uninstall the previous version so long as it was version 4.4 or later. |
why can't you use the control panel to uninstall it? |
It's due to the type of installer. LimeWIre changed their installer so it doesn't work with the add/remove control panel. If you use the add remove control panel it will cause problems with an improperly uninstalled program; ie: not all components will have been removed from the registry, blah blah ... hehehe Once you've been using Limewire for a few years you catch onto these types of changes. As these were important changes. I think for the better. Limewire tends to install much easier than it used to without as many side issues (ignoring java issues!) Keep up with the changes & you won't regret it. ;) :) |
