I believe that is in fact untrue! It is not freely available. Or at least ... most of it being LW code & that of it which is being Aquisition is closed & not GPL!!! Whilst I have tried the trial version ... I'd prefer the experts in this area to respond!

Acquisition is the LW core + a bridge + a GUI. The GUI uses the bridge to talk to the LW Core. LW core and the bridge are open source and available AFAIK, while the GUI is close source. Dave Watanabe is on the edge here since normally the GUI should be GPL... but he argues that the bridge is and then convert things to the core (get it? )

Anyway, this dev has a bad history of abusing LW core default settings and he is a pain to talk to.

I'll admit the GUI is nice, but that's it. I still use the 'Wires on my macs.

i just redownloaded limewire and i know how to use it and all but i want to download **** -i stand alone and it wont let me i dont know why either
