Default I strongly believe that certain files are being blocked, like "Loose Change"?

As many of you know, there is an eye-opening documentary called "Loose Change" which is being heavily circulated around the web. 96% of people who watch the entire thing agree that the government has lied to us about 9/11. In fact, as many of those 96% agree, the Neoconcervatives and/or PNAC have actually PERPETRATED the attacks of 9/11.

I have been sharing this file on Limewire ever since I downloaded it a month and a half ago. At first, only a few people uploaded, then the frequency picked up drastically. There was a week or two when over 1,000 attempted uploads (some did not finish) came through my Limewire client.

Then, all of a sudden, they stopped, and have not resumed. I cannot believe that the public interest in this film has just stopped as suddenly as the uploads. When I do a search for "911 loose change" which used to return hundreds of results, it now returns next to nothing.

Of course, because of the conspiratory allegations contained in the movie, I expected someone to try to keep us from seeing it.

I believe they have already done so. Who "They" is, I really don't know. I'm hoping some of you can enlighten me as to how someone could block certain files and searches. I know this is happening, and if you search for "Flight 93" which is the name of the propeganda movie recently in theaters, you will see that the file size of many of the results is 698.4MB, and if you already have Loose Change, Limewire will recognize that you already have the file because they are in fact the same file.

Many Limewire users seem to have realized that it is being blocked and have tried to rename the file to get it through to the public. First, if you don't believe what I'm saying, go to www.seeloosechange.com and watch it for yourself, then think about how someone might block files and searches.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

Well, since the Google video is still available, the conspiracy theory seems unlikely.

However, I can't find out if the video you were sharing is authorized for sharing, so could you check your filter settings?

I wonder if this might indicate a bug. What version of LW are you using, and can you recall what system or preferences changes might have happened?

I am using 4.10.9

I do not have any filters in my options.

And regarding Google, the absense of that video would alarm Google, who are well aware of its popularity, not to mention the official Loosechange website, which directs its visitors to google rather than paying enormous sums for bandwidth. While an underground network such as Limewire has no press and is not actively aware of which files are being transfered, and presumably does not miss any file if it dissappears, or am I mistaken?

Thanks for the input.

What people upload from me tends to change on a weekly or by-weekly basis depending on what new files I got.
I don't think that people stop downloading the files but when more and more people have them, there will be less need for people to be downloading this file from you.
I allow 4-5 slots for uploading and very often these slots are uploading the same file until something new comes along, then all 5 slots will be uploading the new file instead.

When files are being blocked you will be flooded with fake results instead of the real ones. (Between 10.000 and 25.000 results)
Just try looking for the exact title of a new movie

BTW yours is not the only copy of this movie. It's under other filesizes as well

You are right about people changing the name of the documentary though.

As a matter of interest I tried searching for both filenames.

Loose Change: 11 Hosts
Flight 93: 45 Hosts

But since it is the same file limewire will download from all the hosts

Yes, I just checked and both titles (for part 1 and part 2) downloaded fine and quickly from 14 hosts each. So, it's out there and is being shared by many fast hosts.

Look_up, can you make a magnet link of the one you are sharing (right-click the file in your Library to get at the magnet link) and PM it to me? (we aren't allowed to post magnet links in the forum).

I can then try and download your version, and see if it is blocked.

thanks for the replies...

stief, I have pm'd you with the link

Remember, if I search for it I get fewer results than a few weeks ago, not just that I don't get it uploaded from me. I also see fewer people with the file.

got the link--thanks, but because LW has formatted the links with your internal IP, I'm not sure if some of the download is coming from you. This might need a bug report.

However, there look to be lots of alternate sources, since the download is proceeding from more (14) than show in the search results (11). The possible hosts number more than 1800 (see the attached screenshot).

Do you see any uploads to my IP? (24.*.*.* ; LW 4.12.1 Pro).

I couldn't test the new link with the download still running, but I will onnce it finishes in a few minutes.

Re the search results, by using an "Any Type" search for "loose change .avi" I was able to get over 180 sources for that exact file. Then, by using the new "get more results" (control click the search result to see that menu under Advanced) the search results for that file are now up to 240.

What happens if you try the same search method using the same three keywords as I did?
