Just dl'd LW Pro 4.12.3 Question re "Get more results" feature.

I just dl'd the new version of Limewire Pro from the previous version. I apologize if this issue has been addressed elsewhere but I've been searching and have not come across anything similar to my situation. Okay...on the previous version of LW Pro, I was able to "repeat search" and "get more results" which I am still able to do now except when I hit "get more results", the dl window goes crazy. For example, I am searching for video for a particular person and the search bar is showing *name* 723/17254. Instead of the number of files available going up, the results fluctuate rapidly and I get the split number I mentioned previously. If 723 represents the files that I am able to view in the search results window then what does the 17234 number represent? Are these files that I cannot see or access and if so, why not? I'm not sure if I am making any sense but if someone can decipher what I am trying to describe and has an answer/resolution to this problem....please, please, please explain what is going on?

Doesn't matter how I search....

I have searched both in Video and All Types. The number of hits I get when I search under All Files (video) are considerably a lot less than when I just search Video. At this time, the search bar for the video I am looking for is at 581/31078. Everytime I hit "get more results" the first number fluctuates rapidly up and down. Files appear then disappear quickly. For example, at one point let's say 600 hits appear. By the time the search slows down or stops the number could very well either be 1000 or 100. Meanwhile, the second number continues to grow in size. It just doesn't make sense any more. This NEVER happened with the previous version.

Also I've noticed, I am dl'ing files and it will show that I am waiting in position 1, then all of a sudden it changes to "awaiting sources". When I choose to find more sources, the same files connects then tells me "waiting on busy hosts" therefore losing my place on the waiting list. These changes in status change often and quickly so that when the file tries to reconnect I either 1) have to find more sources 2) wait on busy hosts or 3) continue to lose my position in line. I find that I have to sit in front of the computer and constantly choose either "find more sources" or "resume" in order to try and dl the file but the problem stated in the previous sentence continues to happen. I get the "waiting on busy hosts" or "waiting in line, position #" but either way the file never begins to dl.

I've tried to include as much detail as I could in order for someone to truly understand my problem. I'm thinking of just reverting back to version 4.10 to see if my problem clears up unless someone could offer me a a better solution.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. :D

Sounds to me like you're trying to download copyright material. Spammers such as Overpeers will give exagerated results with dud/fake results that you'll never be able to downld. When you get results of say, 100 for one, 99 for next, then instead, choose those with 10 or 20 or so hosts under the # column of the search results. ;)

Hmmmmmm.....

While that explanation does make some sense to me, I'm not sure if it's the case with me. The material I am trying to dl are just video clips from tv shows and such. Do you think that those files could be copyrighted? Besides, why would I get those results after dl'ing the new version of LW Pro and not with the previous version?

The new version simply stops a browser being opened & redirecting you. It doesn't stop the fake results. And yes, copyright files such as tv shows are those type that are being targeted.

Since no one asked. JUST WHERE did you download Limewire Pro from? ALL files are copyrighted, especially TV Shows, Movies, Games, Music and software.

I dl'd from www.limewire.com. Purchased the Pro version in Feb '06, then received a message that a new version was available and so I dl'd from the same site. I figured that all files were copyrighted but would still be available to dl from LW. The majority of files I dl are tv shows, video clips. With the previous version, I was able to dl any file available without my current problem. Btw, I uninstalled Pro 4.12 and reinstalled 4.10 to see if the problem would clear up. The process went smoothly but now when I open the program, 4.10 seems to be loading then I see the new version flash as if it is loading the new version. Anyway, the point is that now 4.10 is acting as quirky as the newest version. Any thoughts?
