I did do that but it says that I need to upgrade my Nero. It brings up a buy it now screen or something like that. I have StartSmart. I believe it's Nero 6.

Default Santa program - how long

I downloaded the Santa program to change the avi. files and burn onto DVD.

It shows that it will take over 2 hours...is that normal?

Default Need clarification..please

So...does it take about 2 hours to convert EACH file - or is that for the all the files I've added to the "convert" section?

It can depend on the file sizes, as it will only convert one at a time...How many files are you converting ?? Are they a part 1 and 2....

Default avi. files to burn

I have downloaded numerous television programs - I went out and bought an external DVD writer -

It had a NERO program included...but when I used it to copy one television show - the DVD wouldn't play in my laptop or on my TV.

I thought it might be because it didn't convert the avi. files to DVD....so I took your advice and downloaded Santa.

I put 8 television shows in the box to convert. Each is 350 MB. I have no idea what I'm doing actually - just want to get these shows onto DVD so I can get them off my computer...taking WAY TOO MUCH space!

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I've only just started to use Nero myself, so I'm no expert with that lol...

But I have used santa for some time now...
What you will find is when you finish converting the files you will have the option to burn them to disk, I always selected yes and it burnt my files...
I have never had 8 files lined up though and you will find they might not all fit onto 1 disk, so I'm not actually sure if Santa gives you the option to insert another disk or you might get a message saying not enough disk space...

With your blank discs are you using ones that are compatible with your dvd writer ie R-, R+ RW -, RW+...Maybe that's the reason why they wont play..

Some players support - or + and some support both....

Default more

I have a Phillips 16X DVD +R/-R ..Double Format external writer.

So, if I understand you -

I need to convert one television show at a time?

Each time it will take about 2 hours to convert?

If so...I'm really thinking this is too time consuming!

Thanks

Also another couple of tips...
When it comes to the burning process, burn at the slowest speed for better results...
If your using the trial version zoom in a frame or 2 with your remote and you wont see the Demo version thats across the top of the screen....
