Exclamation Windows Crashes

Greetings

Well I'm using Windows2k3 server edition, JAVA Version 1.5.0.6, Limewire 4.10.5 and whenever I open Limewire, the Windows (OS) crashes, also I tried another alternative by opening limewire and then connecting to the Internet, on click of any buttons or even tab control the OS crashes. Thought it was because of Virus or Trojan but couldn't find any thing. I badly need some suggestions to overcome this problem.

Have you been to through this thread? Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!.

Possibily try changing the compatibility mode (step 5).

Also can you give a better description of what happens when it crashes. Blue screen, keyboard locks up, error messages, ect.

LW & Java version ? (In Limewire press Help>about LW & you'll see)

Exclamation

Greetings

Thanks for a quick reply
Here are the details (FYI I did mention it earlier)
________________
Limewire Version 4.10.5
Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0.6

_______
Initially it (Limewire used to crash (Hangs / Keyboard Locks))
Now it simply RESTARTS the computer without throwing any error.
I face this problem only with this software and all the other programs works fine.

Smile Thanks you very Much

Greetings

I was little apprehensive when I made the Changes for the COMPATIBILITY option. Finally it worked without giving any errors. Hope that there won't be any problems in near future.

Thanks a lot for your timely help

Default Windows 2003 Release 2.0

Arunbharatram

I know this is possibly a silly question to a man who has (or controls) a server, but have you updated your O/S to release 2 yet?

It is possible that this may stop your crashing problem, anyway here is the MS blurb which may help:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv.../r2launch.mspx

Hope this helps.

Exclamation Sorry

Greetings

Well frustrated with the behavior of the Software, I was forced to uninstall the same, sorry I made a hasty decision by saying that changing the COMPATIBILITY option the software worked. Yes it did work only for few minutes and after that as usual it restarted the system, tried downgrading the version of the Software from 4.10.5 to 4.97.x faced the same problem.

I'm using server 2k3 say for the past few weeks, installed the OS only for the robustness but what it is happening is just the contrary of it.

Unhappy Same Issue with crash

A few weeks ago I updated to 4.12.5 and since that time when I open limewire and connect, after a few minutes it will crash the computer and restart it.
I then updated to 4.12.6 hoping this will solve the problem, but it still happens.
Has anyone know why it is doing this and how to fix it.
Any help apprieciated.
