Question can anyone help with DVD burning audio problems?

Hi, i've only been using limewire for a week or so & I've managed to burn a few DVD's with no probs.... until now.
I use nero 6, and the video file is .avi Xvid. (This is the same codec and file type as I have previously burned with no problems)
The problem being is that whilst the video plays fine on my computer, when I transcoded and burned to DVD and played it on my home DVD the audio is screwed up and sounds like very garbled electronic noise
Does anyone know what has caused this problem & how to rectify it?
Also, apologies if I have posted this to the wrong forum as i've only just joined.
Thanks!
