While I don't mind the idea, I have a feeling that the people that own this forum would prefer that it stays on the subject of Gnutella and Filesharing. There are other really good sites that deal with media editing already. Actually funny, I've been thinking about something similar, though with a different intention. A place where Mods, VMs and Admins. could post about the programs they're using. I am quite sure that there are many people who would actually like to know what people like you (Sleepless) and I and all the others (let's call them 'professionals') run on their computers. Of course, not to make any kind of advertisement and also under the current Forum Rules (in regard to ware*z, etc). That idea grew in my brain after the incident of WW and she discovering Ewido through my recommendation..... I'm pretty sure that we who come here on a daily basis to help other people run pretty much the same programs (at least some of them), such as AdAwre, SpyBot, CCleaner, just to name a view. For those people less knowledgable, a thread allowing them to see what we are using could help them in deciding which programs to use..... >>>I hope I won't get bashed now for highjacking this thread with my idea<<< Though just my 5-cent-worth.....

Yes and the right place for it would be a forum FAQ. The response I got to that idea was so halfhearted that I decided to scrap the idea. You would be more than welcome to revive it BTW  Then I could shorten this sig down to "Read the Forum FAQ First" and maybe something more fun or well thought of than this one. Oh and sorry Tom if this is going way of subject |

FOTH, I think it's a great idea... When I first came to this forum, I knew absolutley nothing about computers, I was lucky to know how to turn one on lol...Through this place I have gained so much knowledge.... All my computer security has come from the advice of members and most of the tools I use has as well...

My idea was to have a dedicated thread to which we all could contribute (if we wanted to) that would address specific areas of mp3 files. Sort of like this... MP3 TAGS http://www.mp3tag.de Allows you to re-write mp3 tag, delete information you do want, or add information you do want. Controling the volume of mp3 file mp3gain.sourceforge.net For controlling or altering the gain (volume) of mp3 sound file. [Gnutella and Lime Wire does not endorse these applications in any way. They are mentioned simply as an aid that may be of use to you. We could put apps under specific catagories, and provide the URL to the app. And if anybody thinks they're hijacking the thread...rest easy you're not. |
