Default Inconsistant Info

A have downloaded files that only showed a number of one (1) that is blank in the # column yet when I did begin the download, the file is being downloaded from multiple users- sometimes 5-10! Can anyone help me understand this?

Well not really. It may be that more hosts are online since you completed your search, or that Limewire had unearthed more hosts while downloading which it did not find in searching, or identified files that appeared different, as, in fact, the same. It happens to me fairly often and I consider it a nice surprise

'Hobo,

Thanks for the thoughts. That is what occured to be but performing follow-up searches when I discovered the change did not reveal any additional hosts with the file according to the # column. I agree that it is a nice surprise!

What can happen is that you see a lot of single versions of the same file. You download one and it downloads from multiple hosts, and when you have finished, and re-search you see green ticks against a lot of the single files, indicating that they are actually all the same. A bit confusing, and I can't exactly explain it, but I think that could be what happens.

I think limewire is constantly searching for more sources, cause thankfully it happens to me too. I also right click and search for the same more hits, and as the search finds them, my hosts go up.
I wonder sometimes too, if someone is downloading the same file and your hosting, it automaticall interlocks and thus you have more hosts, in other words, you get thrown those hosts, when your hosting.
I don't know.
