Uploads... I hate to sound like a jerk, but my upload section is filled with approx. 250 different uploads when I am logged on for a while. Now I certainly want to do my fair share of sharing, but it seems like all of those queued uploads has to be slowing down my downloads...it certainly is eating up my memory. Is there any way of limiting it? I know that you can limit the amount at one time...(currently 5), but it just seems like there should be a way to limit the amount of people either queued or waiting to be queued in my upload section. Thanks for listening. J |
I'm not sure that this will work, but try going to Tools>Options>Uploads and check the box that says "Clear completed". That way all hosts that aren't either downloading or queued should be cleared from your monitor window. Maybe max uploads for a single host could be set lower as well. |
1. Have you also seen Good tips on set up depending on your speed, & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities. 2. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! upon files at zero % or less than 50 KB. This can have a refreshing affect upon LW> ;) :) |
Thanks Thanks for your replies. I have tried them and it still seems like my upload queue has way too many people in it. I suppose that is just the way file sharing is... |
May I ask what your speed is. This could be due to a really high upload speed or You having chosen T3 or Higher for your speedsettings. Another reason could be that the files you share are really small in size, maybe... not sure, but that would mean that uploads get finished much faster, and maybe makes Limewire decide to keep a longer queu. |

Thanks again... Again, thanks so much for your help guys...I have Cable modem, so speed is set at T1. Both those ultrapeer capability things are disabled. Most of the time it will show200-300 movies in the cue to be downloaded...most of the time it will be the same one...such as "Lord of the Rings" or similar. It will show about 150 people all trying to download it from my comp. Like I said, I certainly don't mind the whole sharing thing, it just seemed ridiculous.:yikes: |
