Junk column header I'm a newb who is reluctant to use LimeWire after a file I downloaded exploded with junk that took over my machine. I noticed the Junk Header and added it to my search tab, but I can't tell if a low or hi % is good or bad. |
Read the STICKYs,n Learn what mistakes not to make, before you make them Viruses you should be aware of. Peace. |
thanks, I have read all that, and have been being more careful this time around. But I've searched the forums and read all the user guides and have not found out what the percentage that a file gets under the junk column header represents. Most have a 0%, some have over 50%. Is that 50% endorsed, 50% junk or what? |
It supose to be that the higher the %, the more people have marked it junk. But the problem is that the spamer's are also marking good files junk,so you cannot trust the junk filter any longer. Under Options/Filters/Junk... make sure your setting is set to "Display junk at the bottom of search results" or you will get little, if any resolts. Personaly I would stay away from, mov, zip, rar, exe Files, unless you like being infected with viruses, Oh! and you must scan every single file BEFORE you open it. anything I missed feel free to add to this post People. Peace. |
