Default Limewire Glitch? please tell me...

i had limewire version 1.7, (i think), and it worked fine for the longest time. then, just yesterday, when the program loaded up, i had no search box to type in a search keyword. i found nothing in the options that would let me turn it off and on. so, i d/l version 1.8c just a few min ago, and after uninstalling the old version just to be safe, i installed the new version. however i have the same problem. no bar to type search subject. i can choose the type, and i have a search and stop button, but what good does it do me if i can't type in a subject to search for? any and all help is appriciated. thanks.

-Barry

Default I had that once

Hi Barry

I had that problem once - right out of the blue.

I just kept on re-booting - did it about 4 times, then it all seemed to sort itself out and I had my search box back. Don't know why it did it, and it's never done it since.

Good luck with it.

it's not working. i'm not sure what's wrong, but i noticed that when i look at the connections tab, where it shows what servers you're connecting to, there's nothing there. i can click on the area's where there'd be lines saying what server and what ip address, and it highlights the area like there's something there, but there's no text. and still no search bar. and, i'm getting no connections either. this is weird man. also, i'm an internet explorer user, and the day limewire messed up, was the same day that my text on internet explorer freaked out too. i keep it on normal size, and when it loaded up that day, the text was there, but it was like real blocky, and impossible to read. i set the text to a different size, and it works fine. i dunno. i'm gonna try to d/l any updates from microsoft, and then if that don't work, run scandisk and defrag my hd. if that still don't work, i guess i'm screwed. thanks for the suggestions though, but it looks like i may have a bigger problem with my pc itself.
