Question Indeed the end of spyware and viruses on LimeWire?(!)

well, my kidz go wild with LimeWire and once in a while I find myself spending hours while fixing damages caused by spyware and viruses. What bothers me most is the fact that not always my anti virus/spyware save me on time…

while searching download.com I found this new p2p file sharing protection called - bufferzone, it claims to automatically neutralize viruses, spyware, trojans of any kind, even new and unknown. it uses this new virtualization security (Not a Sandbox), so any virus or spyware (as far as I understand and correct me if I'm wrong...) 'attack' dummy pc targets instead of my actual pc.

if that is true, then it looks like the end of this endless headache with these annoying malware threats and I probably won't have to count anymore on my Anti-virus to save me on time...

the thing is, it sound too good to me - I was trying to get some feedbacks from LimeWire Pros in this forum.
did any of you already experienced this interesting security solution on his LimeWire?

Thanks,

Joe M.

Afaik this has been mentioned 4 times on the forums .... each time by you. No one else seems to know anything about it. Forum members tend to recommend various protective programmes, and these are mentioned in a number of stickies. I would tend to go with what has a good reputation

lol, just out of curiousity had a look and then tried their security test. Seems like some kind of scam to me.

Was asked to download and run a trojandemo. Clicked it and a calculator popped up. Then a message popped up that I was not protected and the program had gather info on my files, then got three choices:

Protect yourself ; Attack result : close

I chose Attack results, my firewall popped up right away to ask if this program could contact TrustWare website. I said no and then got the result page.

IT WAS EMPTY

What a scam. Seemed very professional though, like any other scamsite

I would just love to see a PC guide magazines, Z-Net impartial review or one of the major antimalware websites give this a thorough test.

If they want to gain any respect and trust from people, they should invite some real tests. Maybe the affiliate or owner that started this thread will take my advise on this and give this out to experts for testing.

Found a few reviews, but if it really was that good, sites like zeropaid and similar would be encouraging users to try it.

http://www.net-security.org/review.php?id=153

http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=14154 (start of exact same review)

http://www.download.com/BufferZone-S...-10597240.html

And that's about it.

Feel free to prove me wrong

Oh and BTW if it works so well, please download some viruses and other nasties of the network, try to run them take screenshots etc. and post the results

Make sure you anti-virus software is up-to-date and has not expired. My experience is both Norton and McAfee will not allow any file with a virus to be uploaded. There is spyware software that removes spyware and at least McAfee also removes spyware.
