![]() Hopefully you'll find this link of help: How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) It's actually one of the Stickies at the top of the Open Discussion Topics section. ![]() BTW don't get confused with the LW playlist within iTunes if you have one. That's simply a playlist that reflects the songs in the downld folder but the songs aren't actually in the iTunes music library. That playlist can play but not copy or burn, so you need to properly copy the downloaded song files to the iTunes library via iTunes program being open & being added via a no. # of techniques. |

![]() Lord of The Rings, I read and followed your excellent 4 (a-d) ways to get music onto my ipod Library. The songs are in my Shared file. I have highlighted them and clicked open and followed all of the other ways as well with out success. The drag and drop method appears to drag a flickering label with a darker circle with a line through it = no transfer. I also often get a message that the name was too long or invalid. Perhaps I did not download valid files although iTunes will play them. Any advice? Also what are the 4 gold stars and green check marks in the LW files area? Thanks, Garotoz |

![]() Stars represent your chances of connecting to the host. Green line, well see Download icons (click on link) & also in case you want to ask here's the answer to download messages: Meanings of the download messages. Go to your LW Library window, select Shared or Saved Files folder, then press the Explore button. This will open the folder. Then select the songs & drag & drop onto the Library icon at the very top of the iTunes playlist. If it says the titles are too long, then I'm guessing you're using windows 98 or 95 where your OS doesn't allow names longer than 22 or 31 characters or something. iTunes will NOT import mp3Pro type files. These are usually very small audio files anyway. And won't import ogg vorbis either. |

![]() That was the link I was referring to. I followed each step. And I did not confuse it with the Shared Library as you warned previously. The files simply won't transfer. The reasons are not clear. Drag and Drop should work as well as the other three methods. I am in the correct folder in the c drive, Documents and the Shared fike with the songs all listed. Unless you have another suggestion, I will shut down for tonight and resume tomorrow. If it still fails I will delete the file and download one new song and attempt anew. Thank you for your help and prompt response. Garotoz |
