personal files

If I have a personal audio file that I want to send a friend. Can I put my name on it in the shared file and can he access it by the find/search tool in LimeWire? It sound like it should work, but I tried it with one of my own files and I put the seach on the name of it. It didn't show up.

Since you never get the whole limewire network on any given search, this is a dicey proposition at best. Maybe some day Limewire and other GnuTella clients will allow for some kind of direct serving feature that would allow people to connect directly to each other via IP, but utnil then there are better ways to get this done.

Isn't this already possible with limewire? Under the Connections tab there is a little line where you can add an IP to connect to. Doesn't it work?
