Default No audio in some videos

For the most part when I download a video, its fine but some have no audio. My default player is Realplayer, if it doesn't work I use VLC. For the most part I do OK with this. For the videos that I need to use VLC on, I get no audio when I transfer to DVD. I'm not a genius but I'm not brain-dead either, I know this is codec related. If I put VLC as my default, will I get audio on my DVDs? I use WINAVI and 1CLICKDVD if that makes a difference.

Have you alterd audio settings in VLC, if so, the auto switching from one format to another goes off somehow.

it run auto, Just a posabilaty it happebd to me.
Shout if that dont fix it.
Namaste Peace.

Why not change default to VLC. VLC is not great at playing dvd disks. You should use another player for that if possible.

It sounds like a pre-burning issue. Something is happening during the conversion process that is losing the audio. What program do you use to convert/& burn the videos?

I've never used winavi, but it might be that it can't handle some files properly. Since an avi can be one of many actual formats. AVI is like the outer shell, but what's inside can very greatly. That includes both audio & video. eg: some converters can't handle the audio if it's in mp3 format, or perhaps another format.

So unless there's an update on winavi that has improvements or can utilise codecs installed on your system, perhaps try another converter as a trial to see if it can handle the issue. Here's an example of one http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&highlight=dvd

Tried the converter you suggested, worked great! Thank you very much for your time!

Maybe you could answer another ? I had. I found a movie file that I would very much like to have but apparently its not too popular. It never has any #'s beside it, no big deal, I can deal with a slow dl. But what gets me is that it always shows I'm downloading it on the search, but in my downloads list it always says awaiting sources. True, it could be fake or incomplete, but this really doesn't seem like one of movies that someone would do that with, its an older documentary. I've tried different days and times, sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't. I've got about 1% of it so I know its right. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!
