Question HOW SAFE are our computers.?

Im selling my computer soon so im deleting everything on it into the recycle bin namely old mp3s and documents as well as personal information. But just how safe is deleting anyway.? I have gone to the trouble of deleting everything and have now downloaded this. https://buy.cyberscrub.com/W3Trial/w3trial.php

To try to remove every scrap of my information off my P.C and any remnants of anything I have downloaded. And removed all my old restore points but is that good enough after deleting everything and running the programe above am I safe in the knowledge that my computer will be free of any data or should I be doing more.?

I was thinking about running cyber scrub a few times then doing a full product recovery to be as sure as sure can be or am I being over paranoid here.?

All advise welcome. Cheers.

Looks like an OK program, but there are free alternatives you know. I don't think there is much need to go beyond DoD standard, but if you have very sensitive information on your drives or you strongly believe someone is going to investigate it, then maybe this would be in order. But this is for extreme cases

Default Try This

If your good with computers try to reboot it with windows Xp disk or what ever else you have on that pc it will delete everything when you format your hardrive.Just when you format make sure you fallow the page carfully.Oh and dont turn off the computer when your reinstalling windows it will screw you over big time.I no from XP.

Thank you for that advise I have nothing VERY sensitive on my computer I had some music videos a few hundred mp3s and some personal details such as bill payments ALL have been deleted and then I downloaded https://buy.cyberscrub.com/W3Trial/w3trial.php and wiped my c\drive once with a DoD standard and that’s about it but being rather picky I was wondering if re-booting my XP from scratch might add more secure knowledge that all my info was off the c\drive yet windows remains intact.
But if its not really going to do much I might not bother.

The only thing that could be left are login details, passwords and such. Depends how much you trust that program really.

Cool Even though

Yea mmmm if you had like bill payments on your pc i would really reboot because even though you deleted everything it's still there it can be recoverd by some one.Say if you sell it to some one you dont no they could be a hacker or say Fbi you dont no on less you do no the person your giveing it to im just saying i would do a reboot if i where you only takes 45min on winows Xp and if you format your hardrive you also will allmost get it all back you might have some space used for the program but it just better to be safe than sorry. OK
