I registered mainly to say that I am a big fan of p2p, but at the same time voicing my displeasure with the distribution of child porn through limewire. Fourteen or fifteen times while searching and sharing have I accidently downloaded this garbage. How can this possibly be allowed? Is there anyone to contact or report this to? These are the guys that ruin P2P for everyone.Peace out !

if there was a way to filter out the porn, there would be a way to filter out the copywrited stuff. Which means you probably want to just live with it.

LW (or any other Gnutella client) can't control what's being shared on the network.

Use the forum search to look for report child porn, or reporting child porn...you'll find a few different links for reporting this.

I'm 15. I know its techically illegal for me to view ANY oprn at 15, but is it any worse for me to look at other high school guys? As sick as you'd feel looking at naked kids...I feel jsut as sick looking at naked adults.

I am not a Forum person, but I too had to voice my thoughts on this subject. I also download this junk while searching on limewire. I few quick search later I was amazed at the amount of this content that was found. Limewire should try to do something about this. I have stopped using p2p altogether now, you just don't know what's out there. Plus the virus factor. It's just not worth it. After reading other post on this forum, I see i'm not alone on this matter. Hope limewire reads these also.

I don't usually get involved in "porn" discussions because I believe that if you are an adult then you should be "man" (or woman) enough to delete this crap and stop whinging.

As for the illegal stuff, again if you download this rubbish by accident then report it if you must, definitely delete it, but for goodness sake stop whining.

You know, the P2P network offers virtually unlimited freedom of expression and ideas that should not be lost or tampered with, especially as all you have to do is press your delete key if you don’t like something. Admittedly, there will always be scum bags that will abuse the freedoms that we have but that is no excuse to continue complaining until those freedoms are taken away.

However, I believe these “whingers and whiners” have another agenda, i.e. trying to get the P2P network either abolished or under some sort of government or government quango control.

And, of course, you have the so-called adults that want to be molly coddled or those that are incapable of taking the responsibilities that come with being an adult.
