I've tried clicking "chat to host" on downloads and uploads but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong??

The chat function does not work in the current version of limewire. There is an older version that has a functioning chat feature, however, you will only be able to chat with others that also have a functioning chat version. Mickjapa will probably help you get a copy of this version. Send him a PM for more info.

Ive had a weeks downtime, but im up and limpin again now I get my
new ISP on 1st feb, n Tiscali can crawl back down the hole they came from
First they shut my applications they didnt like 6pm to 11pm when I didnt go away they started up a bot that they installed by colapsing my connection
so I had to install connection drivers again, then they gave me extra
Straight off the installation CD SpySweeper picked it up, sorry im ranting.

To what you said, I will help if i can, I would just like to add that searching
for old versions of L/w on L/W without knowing exact file size Will almost certainly get virus resolts So PLEASE dont do it people.PM me

This is just a temp fix till the new beta comes out with chat fixed.

is there anyway to find out this one person who has been writing me? I didn't know it had chat feature with Limewire... but it is the same IP address everytime... but everytime I get back to my computer they have logged off or it says host unavailable..??
Please help... They know my name but i just now logged on to this so not sure how???

Have you jotted down the IP, if not do so, Then go to search, at the bottom left click on Direct Connect. then enter IP in box n click. If it works you will
go directly to that persons Library.
Now! right click on one of the search results that doesnt have multiple # in the
left side collem, & click chat with host. You may have to repeat this as that
person may not be on line at the time.
I chat to people, Sometimes! to inform them that I think they are accidentally
sharing half there computer, probably Docs with that persons name on n stuff
Also Check your library!! WHAT are U sharing. If there is stuff you don't want to share, follow instructions below.
When L/W is resetting & your asked if you want L/W to scan for more folders
Don't tick any boxes unless you know for sure there are only MEDIA files in that particular folder.

First! close L/W completely, then Go,
START/My Computer/local disc C:/ Documents & settings/Your User Name/Application Data
Now Delete the LimeWire Folder.
If you cant find Application Data Folder,GO to Tools/folder Options,& tick,show hidden folders,
You can put the setting back afterwords to protect your computer.

note: You will have to reset your settings, Tools/options in L/W Later.
