Default Problem with deleting files

Whats up people...how do you delete a file that doesn't want to be deleted? The files were supposed to be pics but ended up in my documents and I can't do anything with them

Are you saying the files are not pictures?

What kind of files are they? Can you open them?

Do you have Limewire putting downloads in different locations based on file type?

Are you sharing these files currently?

Do you get a message when you try to delete the files?

I have had the same problem at times. I would get the message something like "File is in use by another program".

First close all open program and then delete the file.
Second, if that doesn't work, re-boot your computer and then delete the file.
Finally, if you still cannot delete the file, reboot in "Safe Mode". Then you can delete the file.

Sure, you can close all your programs, including Limewire...

That will only interrupt all your current downloads and uploads!

Why would you want to do that?

If you answer the questions above, maybe I can help.

Good Luck

I don't know what kind of files they are since there is no file extension.
I set lime wire to place the files in my documents.
The files are not being shared.
and NOTHING happens when i try to delete them.

Try one of the tools mentioned in the post below
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...35&postcount=2

I've used both Unlocker & DelinvFile (from the Ask Leo link) & they've worked really well
