Peeved over mislabeling I know this is not Limewire or Gnutella's fault, but one of the most irritating things about using P2P networks is how misleading a lot of the search results are. I'm not talking about cases of deliberate fraud or spam -- it seems to be done out of sheer ignorance and laziness.
For instance, do a search under "B*b D**an" and you'll get this result: b*b d**an and j***s j***n - "*******". Well, geez, I didn't know D**n and J***in did a jam covering an old second rate S** and C**r tune -- what a collector's item! Only they didn't, download it and you'll find that it's actually a concert version of D***n and J*** B*** covering "*****". Thanks a lot.
Yes, I know that's there's a preview function to prevent downloading something you don't want. That's not the point. It's the blatant ignorance and sloth which I find offensive. I mean, anyone remotely sounding like, say, B****S*********n will probably come up in a search for S*******n. It's just so disrespectful of the artists.
Is anyone else bothered by this? And is there anyway that all this mislabeling could be corrected?
