Can you give a little bit more info to start with...did you try to download LimeWire & somehow end up with FrostWire? If this is what happened...where did you download LW/FW from?
The only official LW site is www.limewire.com

Or, do you have both LW & FW on your computer & when you try to open LW, FW opens instead?

Default Downloading Frostwire

Thank you Birdy, I thought I was downloading limewire, but I ended up with Frostwire and I cannot tell you how it happened, but I somehow had something called MP3-musicq.com asking for a subscription, which I thought was reasonable to get all this music to have to pay something for it, but the trouble is they are a bit tricky and have withdrawn more than they should. Watch out for them. Anyway, I am doing well with Frostwire, and getting on to this forum has given me an answer of how to transfer my music from Frostwire to Itunes. But what is the difference between Frostwire and !!!Limewire, are they the same company. Thank you very much, all a bit foreign to me.

Annabel, sorry to say it but you've been scammed.

FW's free, just like basic LW. The official site for downloading LW is www.limewire.com
The official site for downloading FW is http://www.frostwire.com

You should contact your bank/CC company & report this straight away. If the scammers have already overcharged you, there's a chance that they could keep deducting payments. Your bank or CC company will be able to tell you whether you should cancel your card.

If you paid for FrostWire you have been scammed, FrostWire is free
Check the 2 links below for more info. Page 5 of the first thread has a list of scam sites.
Membership? - **BEWARE** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites (click on link)

get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

If I were you, I'd get rid of the version you have now...for all you know it could have spyware or adware included. Rather than keeping a scam version, download a clean version of whichever program you want from the official site only

Default Thanks

Thank you for your advice of which I have instantly taken on board. If spyware or adware was put onto my computer will it still be there even though I have uninstalled that version of frostwire and what do they do? I have reinstalled it via your official address thank you.
Cheers

Spyware is software that secretly collects user information through someone's internet connection without their knowledge, usually for advertising purposes.

Adware
will display banners and/or popups advertising products, while another program's running.

You might not have any malware at all, but some scam versions of p2p apps do install this crap. You could always run these below to see what's on your computer. They're both good, free programs & I'd recommend them. Just remember to keep them updated.

ad-ware __(FREE)

Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE)

Also make sure that you're using a good Anti_virus program. Keep it updated & scan all files that you download before opening them. There are heaps of infected files around & you do have to be really careful. There are lots of good stickies all over the different forum sections...check them out.
