Default Compromised Data - Does Limewire Corporate Help?

Recently, an employee, using limewire, used his MY DOCUMENTS folder for his shared folder. The problem is that this employee works in our HR department and has quess what files were kept in which directory. Nonetheless, we know the folder was comprimised for several weeks. Is there a way to contact Limewire to verify if any files made there away across their servers or anything of that nature? Just looking for a Limewire contact phone number. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear what's happened. But unfortunately there's no LW support phone number. AFAIK there's no way of finding out how many people may have downloaded sensitive files, apart from searching for some of the file names & seeing if they show up in your search results.
Even then, a search won't be 100% accurate, as it's not possible to search the whole Gnutella network at once. Also, a search will only show results from users online at the time. There's no central server, files are shared by other users.

Unfortunately, this is a prime example why LimeWire, or any P2P app, should not be used in the work place, especially if the user has no idea of how to install and configure the application.

There are ways of preventing non-technical staff from installing software on their office PCs, although "the horse has already left the stable”, your IT security should now have the incentive to implement one of those preventative methods.
