Default Limewire songs to iTunes? (I'm new, help!)

I'm new to the whole Limewire thing and quite frankly I can't work with computers to save my life.
So I've downloaded two songs on LW that I want on iTunes. On iTunes, they're automatically put in my 'shared files'. When I try to Add Files, I A. Can't find the song in there ANYWHERE or B. It says 'searching for file' and, quite frankly, isn't doing so.
Please, can someone explain to me as simply as possible, exactly what to do just to get two freaking songs on my iPod? For God's sake, I'm fed up and tired.

That "your name's LW tunes" is just a playlist. You'll need to add the files from your LW saved folder to the iTunes library before you can add files to your iPod

* A 1st iTunes File menu > Add to Library... & select the songs to add. Hold SHIFT key for selecting multiple songs.
* B Drag & drop the songs onto iTunes Library icon above the playlists. This can be via your Saved Files or Shared folders or directly via LW's Library window.
* C Create a Playlist within LW. Save it with a unique name & as an m3u file. Then import that playlist into iTunes. Then go to iTunes menu >Advanced>Consolidate Library. This will copy the actual files to iTunes own library folders.
* D Launch your new songs from LW's Library>Saved Files folder whilst iTunes is your default player. Once iTunes opens it will copy the songs to its music library. But make sure LW's media player is disabled & also, iTunes menu>Preferences>Advanced & Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library option is ticked! LW's menu bar>Tools>Options>Player & uncheck option to disable LW's media player. Setting default audio program

None of these worked. That and the last one made no sense to me (note my first line in OP)

Are you using Windows?

Go to LW's library, click on Saved Files then click Explore...your saved folder will open for you. This is where you have to add files from, when adding to the iTunes library. Did you try dragging from this folder & dropping into the iTunes library?

By default, the saved folder location for windows is C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Shared. Unless you've changed the saving location within LW, that's the location of your saved folder. So that's what you have to look for if you use the File > add file to library method. Once you're in iTunes, click on file > add file to library. Now browse for your saved folder & follow that path above in bold (my computer > C drive > Documents and Settings > your username > then find the folder called Shared...that's where your downloads are saved). Once you're there, click on a song > open. It should go to the iTunes library.

To make iTunes your default player, go ahead & open your saved folder (like I said in the first paragraph). Now right click a song > open with > choose program. Select iTunes from the list & then tick the box to 'always use the selected program to open files of this type' > ok. Now iTunes should be your default player.

This thread is nearly 3 years old but anyway, there's a link to a very comprehensive guide (also for people not using LW 5) in post #2
