missing part of downloaded file

hi when i download a file=mpg video it gets up to 73% complete but when i shut down LW for the nite an restart it again in the moorning the same MPG file only has 25% of it an starts to download from 25%
wer did the other 48% of the downloaded file go ???
very p**sed off
