Default Still No Answer For How To Rename Your Limewire Music Files???

There must be a way to rename your music files in Limewire 4.12 because if you "right click" on a music file ,one of the drop down box options is "rename".If you click on "rename" it will allow you to change the file name to what ever you want. Now here's where the problem starts,it is "keeping"(RETAINING) the "changes" you have made to the music files name. What is the next step in "renaming"???Push "enter" on your keyboard????It doesn't work, file reverts back to its old file name.I had a friend who can make the new file name changes work ,without adding any additional software program to Limewire 4.12.I wished I would have paid more attention to the "process procedure" involved. It has something to do with "shared" and "not shared" file folders and "imcomplete file" folders, he passed away unexpectedly, and took the answer with him unfortunately, his nickname was "Doc" and he was very intelligent when it came to solveing computer problems. My computer misses him the most,ha!So if there's anymore "Docs" out there in cyberland, your imput would be greatly appreciated,Thanx The Sturgeon General.P.S.If you live in the Sacramento-San Jaquin Delta(Bay Area) the solution is worth one Sturgeon fishing trip.

Try renaming them with LW shut down completely. Go to the LW library page and click the folder with your files in it, then click the explore button. The folder should open up in windows(outside of LW). Make sure LW is shut down completely and not running in your taskbar. Now right click the file and click rename. Just be sure not to change the file extension. Hope this works.

scrubber

You should only remane files once they have completely downloaded, not when the downloads is incomplete.

LimeWire is a popular peer-to-peer file sharing program using the Gnutella network that supports a wide range of languages and operating systems including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

The program features an open community of similar users (defined by interests, computing power, and bandwidth) to optimize search performance. You can run unlimited simultaneous searches for videos, images, documents, programs and audio and your results are displayed via a tabbed interface. A "Browse Host" tool is also useful to find more files that one particular person is sharing.
