Whats with Limewire?

Whats with limewire and all the porn? I looked up 'Click' and only one was about the actual movie, the rest where like 'click here for sexy ***** in action' And whats with all the viruses? On my old computer not many, not alot, ALL of the programs on limewire were trojan horses. Why is limewire trying to destroy our computers and giving us child porn (yes, while looking up a movie for my kid brother CHILD PORN showed up)

First off I think you should do a little research before you get on the forums. Limewire has nothing to do with the content on the network. It has no servers so what you are seeing, are files from other hosts. P2P is file sharing from other computers. Your not downloading anything from Limewire itself. Also you can filter a lot of the bad crap by doing this if you so choose. Go to Tools > Options > Filters > Keywords. Add the following file extensions to block, .wma, .exe, .rar, .html, .com, .zip, .mov. After you have added the extensions hit apply and then OK. You can unblock the ext. if you feel the need to do so.

What's with Rifro not using his brain, you would have thought that a seemingly intelligent person would do a bit of research and read the user guide before trying to use LW, which is a complex app.

Even then, if he could not find what he wanted you would have thought he would come to this forum asking how best to conduct his search queries, you know in order to avoid all the awful stuff that’s out there.

Plus, as LW is a P2P app that allows you to access stuff on other users PCs (and not from a controlled server) you know you have to be careful how you go about searching for stuff. But all these things are known to people that occasionally think about what they are doing.

Also, you would have thought he would have protected his PC with an anti-virus and firewall app, which he can download for free, rather than leave his machine open to attack. Why is he trying to destroy his PC and blame someone else for it.

You know, I can’t understand what some people have against using their brains.
