To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned.  no longer am able to find new downloaded songs from limewire to my Media player I no longer am able to find new downloaded songs from limewire to my Media player; they arent transferring over there for some reason. I went to "search" on my "start" and it shows numerous files, that when opened say one or more of these files may be invalid. this may be due to a corrupted installation. etc. also i keep getting my Norton Alert saying "worm protection" has detected a remote system is attempting to access your computer" and asks me to Allow or Block. | Hi theputz, You're saving songs to C:\Program Files\Limewire?? That's a bad idea...if you uninstall LW then your songs are gone. The default saving location is C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Shared...that's a safer option. In LW tools > options > saving & change your saved folder back to that default location. If that doesn't work, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. Once you have a better saved folder location, see it things transfer to your media player properly again. | birdy...I went to open limewire today, and everything was gone! I am so so u(u kno, freaked out) all that downloading etc and it uninstalled itself?? I had to download/open it to find it even - usually it auto loads on startup. In my "programs to add/remove" it says limewire is 230.00 mbs. but there is nothing in the library etc. My media player (wmp) has not received any new downloads from the "C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Shared" after I made it as you told me to and then I downloaded some of my favorites again. WHAT the heck happened? also i had Limewire pro at one time and how do i get it back? they say you only pay one time. HELP Any help is appreciated.! |

| oops,. never mind about the files transferring to wmp, i clicked on genre, and a lot of songs had been filed there; I was looking under "recently added". I am reading more of the links you mentioned. Always a good idea to do the research before whining about things! Patience is a virtue. |

| Re the LW Pro, it's a one time payment of $18.88 & entitles you to free updates for 6 months. Whatever versions that you download during the 6 months are yours. But...it's up to the user to save & back up their LW Pro installers If you didn't save your installers then you'll have to buy again if you want to use Pro. |
