A lot of you are burning Data files instead of plain .cda files.
Data files will not play in an ordinary disk player unless it has the option to play mp3's.
An ordinary .cda disk can only contain 10-12 pieces of music like a CD you buy at the shops. A data CD can contain up to 300-400 mp3's. You must make that distinction when you are starting to burn a CD. you must either burn a data CD which will contain mp3's or you can burn an ordinary Audio CD (usually all the files will have the extension .cda) and it will (or should play) in your home or car CD player.
There is a big difference in the two types of files you can burn.
You have to select either data or music CD when you begin the burning process.
I know most of you know this already but others are less clear on what they are doing.
I hope this makes things a bit clearer for at least some of you.

Default going crazy trying to burn a cd!

I have read all the posts on cd burning with limewire and wma players. No matter what I try, when it comes to burning the cd, it tells me that there is a problem with the songs I want to burn! I have gotten them from limewire and from friends; what is up with this? They all say mp3 format.

Make sure they are 'real' mp3's. Check Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see) to be sure none of yours match those sizes as they are probably not real mp3's. Play all the songs you wish to burn, see if they all play ok.

May be a problem with your burner codecs not being up to date & not reading the mp3 format properly. CODECs list for Movies/Audio/ Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers. Personally I use a dedicated disk burner program.

When burning an Audio CD, always burn at minimum speed possible. If possible, choose a low speed disk, not one of the super fast 45 x speed ones.
