Well you didn't offend me, remoc! You just have more time on your hands than me - I don't have time to do research etc. Now on to ukbobby's eloquent reply. You have got me all wrong. I do not think that the people on this forum hinder me in any way. I wouldn't be here looking for answers to the problems this wretched software is giving me if you were all making it worse! I am not being disparaging about hostiles.txt, or the person who compiled it. I am saying they shouldn't have to. Whoever you are, you are amazing. I think what you have done in compiling this list is beyond helpful, heading towards saintliness. I used to use WinMX. Did exactly what it said on the tin, didn't have any ads on it, didn't slow down my computer, and was fast. Since its demise, I have tried LW free version, Kazaa, Kazaa lite, BitTorrent thingys, and a couple of others I can't remember. None of them did what WinMX could do. Then I read the ads for LW pro. It promised better search results, faster downloads, free tech support (did they mean these forums?) etc, etc. I thought, "Great! This should be like the good old days!" The only difference to me? No ads. That's it. Yes remoc, it is cheap and YOU have got a lot out of it, but my experience has been woeful and I'm clearly not alone. Even though I say that, the price is a red herring. If a penny chew dissolves in your mouth, it was a rip-off. You didn't get to chew it. Finally, I can't sit bare at my computer because I have a fake leather seat that would be very sweaty and my wife would kill me too. |
