Download speed reduced on DSL

I have five computers on my DSL and have dedicated one pc just for sharing about 100 files over the last two years, but since using LW 2.0 and 2.1.1, I have noticed a severe reduction in download speed on my other four computers. It is so severe that I can't live with it and had to shutdown LW.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I'm using the same settings I used with the older LW versions.

I guess from the lack of response, no one has a solution. I did notice that when I remove all of the files from the shared folder, my download and browsing returns to normal on my other computers. I'll just have to leave the file sharing to the guys with the T1 and T3 bandwidth. It used to work before they changed the system to work better for the dialup people. I used to have six uploads going around the clock for two years.
