I'm just wondering if my anti-virus prog Mcafee is as good as AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition or the other one or should change to that one any suggestions on it.

Hey Michwayne, I have heard so many things about so many AV's I think it comes down to personal preference. I happen to love Norton, and to hear what people say about it you would think it is absolutly the worst AV out. Funny because I kept seeing all the hoopla about AVG, so I disabled my Norton and downloaded AVG, Updated it like everyone says to do and then ran a Full scan. Thinking It was going to find this enormous amount of bad stuff, found absolutly Nothing. So I deleted it right away and continue to love my Norton. So I guess its up to you. I like to use c-net for reviews for almost any software or hardware programs out there.

all right I guess I'm going with the old saying if it's not broke don't fix it in this case don't change it..

AVG is probably at the top of the class when it comes to FREE av. If you want top class protection and are willing to pay for it then give Kaspersky a go. Kaspersky updates its virus definition every hour and catches NEARLY everything. Fact is though that no av can be 100%, as new virus`s are released then somebody is going to get caught with their pants down before virus definitions are circulated for it. Best form of defence is if it don`t feel right then even if your av says it`s ok, don`t open it.

oh yaa I like the sound of the shield deluxe.

It looks good but I'm not familure with it. Might do a little research before you buy.

I like to always have that disc handy and that's another reason why I buy Norton. I never download Norton from the internet. Freeware or Shareware yea, but not taking the chance with something as important as your AV. I would assume you can go buy The Shield retail, just don't recall seeing it.

ya that's what Microsoft told me but I got the mcafee through AOL anyway Microsoft told me to perches Norton through them that they recommend.
