Default limewire.... it's a hoot (LW won't stay closed)

Hi, Im new here. I am having problems with limewire not wanting to close. Ive been trying to get rid of this prob since about 9:30pm last night, its 5:16am now lol. I am going crazy. I thought it was something I could fix by reinstalling, but then when I looked it up, it said it could be a worm. Mcafee is seeming useless to me right now. I have been to their site, but they are very limited with their info on removing, and it didnt work anyway. I also tried something I stumbled upon in these forums, with a prog called brute force uninstaller. that didnt help either Im not very good with this, some help would be appriciated very much thanks!

I can open the task manager too, it works fine. The only prob I'm having is that limewire opens every few minutes. I have uninstalled it for now, because it's so annoying

This is probably one of the best help Forums for Malware I've found. Just another suggestion.

Malware Removal - MajorGeeks Support Forums

Thanks Remoc,
MajorGeeks was where I found a cure.
The virus software Counter Spy was the one that finally caught my problem. Oddly, I scan every download from LimeWire with AVG, but this one got under the wire I guess.
Thanks again for the help everyone

Xcom, Thanks for the tip, but I believe that these worms and viruses are becoming really nasty and I don't think just having AVG is going to fix the problem anymore. Also I personally don't care for AVG. It's free but there is better out there.

I have read that Brute Force Uninstaller isn't even doing the job. Thats why I am offering one of the Best Malware Forums there is, to help with this new nastier problem.

If my assumption is wrong, please correct me for the sake of our members, but I don't think so.
