automatic search from a playlist?

Is there any support in LW, LW Pro, or through scripting (I posses Unix scripting skills) to automate the search and download based on a playlist (approx. 2600 entries) like this:
Artist 1 - Name 1
Artist 1 - Name 2
Artist 2 - Name 1
....
